Note that processes are not listed in order of resource consumption, but, rather, are listed alphabetically.<br />

Processes which consume resources above <strong>and</strong> beyond the thresholds shown on this web page will have that<br />

utilization marked on the page in red as described in the legend above the data table.<br />

The data table counts the number of instances of a process (N) <strong>and</strong> has a graph available. Click the “Go” link in<br />

the Graph column to see the chart <strong>for</strong> that process. <strong>Project</strong> <strong>Canary</strong> software also calculates the st<strong>and</strong>ard<br />

deviation of resource consumption. This can be quickly consulted to determine which processes are consumers<br />

of large amounts of resources <strong>and</strong> which are not. This table can be used <strong>for</strong> resource planning. If applications<br />

which consume a large amount of CPU resources are critical to operations, then servers <strong>for</strong> those applications<br />

can be sized properly <strong>and</strong> allocated <strong>for</strong> using the data provided in this report.<br />

4.10.1: Apps Histograms Graph<br />

The Apps Histograms report also generates a graph which attempts to predict resource consumption <strong>and</strong><br />

behavior patterns of applications by examining their past behavior. An example of such a graph is shown<br />

below, <strong>for</strong> the df(1) , a commonly used application:<br />
