Examinations<br />
Enrolling for <strong>and</strong> Accessing Course Materials<br />
for Courses Delivered via the Course Portal<br />
Enrolling for courses delivered through a Course Portal is<br />
easy. If you are not already registered in LOMANET, follow<br />
the instructions on page 55. Once registered, use your login<br />
ID <strong>and</strong> password to access LOMANET. Select the course <strong>and</strong><br />
your exam type (I*STAR, Prometric, or paper) <strong>and</strong> desired<br />
exam period, <strong>and</strong> <strong>com</strong>plete any add<strong>it</strong>ional steps concerning<br />
payment, etc. Once your enrollment is <strong>com</strong>pleted, click on<br />
“My Learning” in the selection menu. “My Learning” will<br />
display the course for which you’ve enrolled if your course<br />
provides access to online resources <strong>and</strong> study materials.<br />
Click on the course t<strong>it</strong>le, which will launch your Course Portal<br />
in a new window.<br />
You will have access to the Course Portal through the exam<br />
period selected during the enrollment process. If you do not<br />
s<strong>it</strong> for your exam by the end of the exam period, you will<br />
need to purchase a fee transfer to change your exam period<br />
to a future period. If you are taking your exam at a Prometric<br />
Center, please see page 55 for full instructions on selecting<br />
an exam date <strong>and</strong> the process for purchasing fee transfers.<br />
Enrolling For Exams <strong>and</strong> Bundled Courses<br />
LOMA offers an examination for each professional<br />
designation program course to assess a participant’s<br />
successful mastery of the course content. These exams<br />
are available in paper <strong>and</strong> electronic formats <strong>and</strong> are<br />
administered in LOMA member organizations <strong>and</strong> in<br />
independent testing locations. This section provides<br />
information about exam formats, enrollment procedures for<br />
both exams <strong>and</strong> bundled courses, <strong>and</strong> exam fees.<br />
LOMA exams vary in length from 2–3 hours. Consult your<br />
Test Preparation Guide (TPG) or <strong>Education</strong> Representative<br />
for specific information about the length of your exam. As<br />
new or revised LOMA courses are released, the number of<br />
examination questions for some course examinations may<br />
change. Exam for revised courses that formerly consisted of<br />
75 questions w<strong>it</strong>h a 3-hour time lim<strong>it</strong> will now consist of 60<br />
questions <strong>and</strong> have a 2-hour time lim<strong>it</strong>.<br />
If you enroll for an examination, you are responsible for<br />
studying the correct assigned materials. The assigned<br />
study materials for each course are listed in the “Course<br />
Descriptions” section, beginning on page 17. If you enroll for<br />
a bundled course delivered through a LOMA Course Portal,<br />
the assigned study materials are included in your enrollment<br />
<strong>and</strong> are accessible via the Course Portal. For a more<br />
<strong>com</strong>plete description of your responsibil<strong>it</strong>ies as a student in<br />
LOMA’s professional designation programs, please refer to<br />
the “Professional Designation Programs” section on page 7.<br />
Your enrollment process will depend on the type of<br />
examination you choose to take:<br />
•Paper exams administered twice yearly on specified<br />
examination dates (see page 61)<br />
•Computerized/I*STAR exams at your <strong>com</strong>pany<br />
•Computerized/I*STAR exams at Prometric Testing<br />
Centers (available in the Un<strong>it</strong>ed States <strong>and</strong> Canada only)<br />
LOMA offers two options for exam enrollment:<br />
•Online enrollment via LOMANET, our Internet-based<br />
education administration system<br />
•Enrollment forms for paper exams, for use by<br />
independent students only, are available for download at<br />
www.loma.org<br />
If your <strong>com</strong>pany will enroll over 20 students at a time, your<br />
Ed Rep should contact LOMA’s Office of the Registrar for a<br />
time-saving feature.<br />
LOMANET<br />
LOMANET allows students to:<br />
•Enroll online for exams <strong>and</strong> bundled courses<br />
•View exam grades<br />
•View an analysis of performance on Paper, I*STAR or<br />
Prometric exams<br />
•Access course history <strong>and</strong> progress toward earning<br />
designations<br />
•Update personal information<br />
•Purchase fee transfers<br />
•Access online study materials for select designation<br />
courses<br />
Accessing information on the LOMANET system requires a<br />
login ID <strong>and</strong> password. Contact the LOMANET HelpDesk at<br />
