Examinations<br />

Paper Exam Enrollment Deadlines<br />

Enrollments made by authorized member <strong>com</strong>pany students,<br />

independent students, <strong>and</strong> Ed Reps must meet the official<br />

LOMA deadlines listed on the inside front cover to avoid<br />

add<strong>it</strong>ional fees.<br />

Important Information about Paper<br />

Enrollments, Fees, <strong>and</strong> Cancellations<br />

•Enrollments may not be canceled for any reason after<br />

the official enrollment deadline.<br />

•Fees are nontransferable between students, or between<br />

courses.<br />

•Sw<strong>it</strong>ching courses w<strong>it</strong>hout paying for the new course is<br />

prohib<strong>it</strong>ed. Cred<strong>it</strong>s <strong>and</strong>/or refunds will not be given for<br />

the course for which you in<strong>it</strong>ially enrolled.<br />

Fee Transfers<br />

If you are unable to take a paper, I*STAR, or Prometric<br />

examination during the testing period in which you enrolled,<br />

or you wish to sw<strong>it</strong>ch from paper to I*STAR or I*STAR to<br />

paper, you can purchase a fee transfer. Fee transfers may<br />

be purchased via LOMANET through the “Check Enrollment<br />

Status” function. If your exam period has expired <strong>and</strong> your<br />

score is a “DN” (did-not-s<strong>it</strong>), you may purchase a fee transfer<br />

from the “Course History” page in LOMANET. If you are<br />

unable to access LOMANET, you may request a form from<br />

LOMA’s Office of the Registrar, or download a form from<br />

www.loma.org. Fee transfers must be purchased w<strong>it</strong>hin<br />

seven months from the date the exam was scheduled to be<br />

taken.<br />

Paper Exam Fee Transfers<br />

To apply a fee transfer to another exam or course enrollment<br />

period, you must re-enroll for the next paper exam testing<br />

period. Re-enrollment is not automatic. If you do not enroll for<br />

the next exam testing period, you forfe<strong>it</strong> the exam or course<br />

fees <strong>and</strong> the transfer fee.<br />

Exam Procedures & Regulations<br />

Except where noted, the following procedures apply to the<br />

administration of paper, I*STAR, <strong>and</strong> Prometric examinations:<br />

•All paper exams must be taken according to LOMA’s<br />

“Paper Exam Schedule.” (See page 61.)<br />

•Plan to arrive at the exam s<strong>it</strong>e 30 minutes before your<br />

exam begins. You may be required to furnish photo ID<br />

when taking an exam. If you arrive after the scheduled<br />

starting time for your paper exam, the exam may not be<br />

accepted by LOMA for grading.<br />

Individual Student Performance Analysis<br />

is now available for paper exams!<br />

Students taking paper exams can now view an analysis<br />

of their performance on each chapter of the assigned<br />

study materials. The Performance Analysis report is<br />

available in the Course History section of their student<br />

records following the posting of exam grades. Simply<br />

click on the LOMA course number of the exam taken,<br />

<strong>and</strong> then click on “Performance Report.”<br />

•“Official Exam/Proctor Instructions,” mailed along<br />

w<strong>it</strong>h examinations to all paper exam proctors, must be<br />

followed.<br />

•Students may not consult, discuss, review, or in any<br />

way use anyone else’s answers or accept unauthorized<br />

assistance during the examination.<br />

•During the exam, students may not have in their<br />

possession any outside materials including, but not<br />

lim<strong>it</strong>ed to, notes; textbooks; tables; charts; graphs; cell<br />

phones; pagers; Personal Dig<strong>it</strong>al Assistants (PDAs),<br />

e.g. Palm Pilots or BlackBerrys; or dig<strong>it</strong>al media players,<br />

e.g. iPods.<br />

•Only calculators bearing the official LOMA logo are<br />

perm<strong>it</strong>ted in the exam room. The official LOMA<br />

calculator is sold through PBD [PBD Order # CALC-01].<br />

•Add<strong>it</strong>ional procedures, regulations, <strong>and</strong> information<br />

are posted in both the Student Services <strong>and</strong> Ed Rep<br />

Resources sections of LOMA’s Web s<strong>it</strong>e at<br />

www.loma.org.<br />

•Paper exam booklets must be returned to the proctors<br />

after the exam. The booklets will not be returned to<br />

students.<br />

Violations of Exam Administration Procedures<br />

To protect the LOMA designations while ensuring the<br />

credibil<strong>it</strong>y <strong>and</strong> rights of organizations <strong>and</strong> individuals<br />

participating in LOMA Programs, a due process procedure<br />

is used when violations of st<strong>and</strong>ards governing exam<br />

administration are suspected. The due process procedure<br />

involves:<br />

1. Determining the existence of a possible violation<br />

2. Investigating the suspected violation<br />

3. Communicating the findings <strong>and</strong> sanctions imposed,<br />

if any, to the affected parties<br />
