Individuals may choose to take individual courses within
any of LOMA’s programs without pursuing a professional
designation. LOMA offers an examination for each
professional designation course to assess a participant’s
successful completion of the course curriculum. For
information about enrolling for LOMA courses and
examinations, see page 54.
LOMA develops a comprehensive set of study materials
for you to use in preparing for each course’s examination.
For most LOMA courses, the assigned materials include
both textbooks and study aids. Some LOMA professional
designation courses—LOMA 280, LOMA 286, and
LOMA 290—have complete study materials available in
your choice of online or text-based materials. LOMA 281 and

Offered by LOMA
In some cases, students may receive credit for
courses that are no longer offered by LOMA.
Most of these situations are explained in footnotes to
the tables in this section. However, students should
check their LOMANET record for the most up-to-date
information regarding program requirements. Visit
www.lomanet.org for more information. For more
information on LOMANET, see page 54.
LOMA 291 are online only. Beginning in 2010, some LOMA
course materials will be offered via a Course Portal, an online
resource for accessing assigned course content and study
aids and other special features.
Student Responsibilities
If you choose to participate as a student in LOMA’s
professional designation programs, your responsibilities
include:
•Knowing designation program requirements and keeping
up with program changes as described in LOMA’s
Education and Training Catalog
•Enrolling for the correct exam(s) for the course(s) you
wish to take
•Noting text updates and changes and obtaining the
correct editions of all assigned study materials for each
course
•Studying all materials assigned
•Taking paper examinations according to the date and
time specified in the official exam schedule and/or
following your company’s and/or Prometric’s guidelines
for I*STAR examinations
•Being aware of enrollment deadlines, rules on canceling
exams, and deadlines to take an exam or have access to
study materials
•Reporting any cheating or violations of LOMA
examination procedures to LOMA immediately
•Requesting agent CE credit from LOMA (Credit is not
reported automatically)
