CONSTRUCTION PROCEDURES<br />
CHAPTER THREE<br />
In addition to witnessing all final pressure tests, the contractor shall<br />
uncover restrained fittings for inspection as required by the <strong>Authority</strong>’s<br />
inspector.<br />
Pump Stations:<br />
The contractor shall provide a minimum of 48 hour notice prior to<br />
excavating for <strong>and</strong> setting a wet well. Following the setting of the wet<br />
well sections, the <strong>Authority</strong>’s inspector shall field approve the final layout<br />
of the pump station site irregardless of what is indicated on the approved<br />
construction plans. The contractor shall provide 24 hour notice of pouring<br />
concrete to create the wet well hopper bottom.<br />
3.4.4 FINAL INSPECTIONS<br />
A final GSWSA inspection will be conducted simultaneously with the<br />
DHEC inspection. The project engineer is responsible for coordinating the<br />
inspection schedule with the <strong>Authority</strong>. Prior to the inspection, two (2)<br />
sets of as-built construction plans shall be provided to the <strong>Authority</strong>'s<br />
inspector at least ten (10) days prior to the scheduled final inspection. All<br />
pressure testing shall be completed prior to the final inspection. All<br />
satisfactory pressure test reports shall be presented to the <strong>Authority</strong>'s<br />
Inspector at the final inspection. The final inspection requires the<br />
attendance of the engineer <strong>and</strong> contractor. The <strong>Authority</strong> inspector will<br />
make a punch list of any items to be corrected or will state that the project<br />
has been constructed substantially in accordance to the permitted plans<br />
<strong>and</strong> specifications.<br />
3.4.5 FOLLOW-UP INSPECTION<br />
A follow-up inspection may be requested by the project engineer once all<br />
punch list items noted during the final inspection have been corrected.<br />
Should the follow up inspection prove that all punch list items have been<br />
satisfactorily completed, final construction approval can be issued by the<br />
<strong>Authority</strong>'s inspector.<br />
