cL. INSPECTION.-Inspection is the most important<br />
operation in the preventive maintenance program.<br />
Inspection consists of carefully observing all parts of<br />
the equipment noticing color, placement, state of<br />
cleanliness, etc. Inspect for the following conditions:<br />
WARNING<br />
Be sure that the primarv power switch (see<br />
figure 3-l) is turned off to prevent injury or<br />
death before conducting the following maintenance<br />
procedures. Since the AF and RF<br />
conductors carry only very small currents,<br />
it is safe to work inside the cabinets without<br />
securing operations completely.<br />
(l) OVERHEATING.-Indicated by discoloration,<br />
blistering or bulging of the parts, leaking of insulating<br />
compounds, and oxidation of rnetal contact<br />
surfaces. Replace as necessary all parts found defective.<br />
