ENG350 World Literature credits: 3<br />
This course introduces students to literature written in languages other than English. The texts for the course-which include<br />
poetry, fiction, drama, and other prose forms-are read in translation, and issues of geography, history, and culture, as well as<br />
literary form and device, will be emphasized.<br />
ENG483 Senior Project credits: 1<br />
Students combine research and practical implementation of theories and concepts to develop an individual project. Prerequisites:<br />
Senior standing & instructor's permission<br />
ENG491 Seminar in Literature credits: 3<br />
Students engage in an intensive study of a topic, author, period, or genre. Subject matter will change from year to year and will<br />
generally be announced prior to early registration.<br />
ENS201 Wind Ensemble credits: 1<br />
Study and performance of band literature of all periods and styles. Conducts annual tours. Formerly INS201. This course is<br />
repeatable.<br />
ENS211 Low Brass Ensemble credits: 1<br />
Performance opportunity in low brass ensemble literature of all periods and styles. This course is repeatable.<br />
ENS221 Jazz Ensemble credits: 1<br />
Study and performance of contemporary jazz literature. Performance opportunities will be through concerts and tour. Formerly<br />

ESC201 Physical Geology credits: 3<br />
The earth's crust and its constituents. Geological processes. Common rocks and minerals, and topographic map study. (Students<br />
are responsible for field trip expenses.)<br />
ESC211 Principles of Physical Geography credits: 3<br />
This is an introductory course in physical geography. Primary attention is given to earth-sun relations, climate, landforms and map<br />
interpretation. (Students are responsible for field trip expenses.).<br />
ESC310 Meteorology credits: 3<br />
This course offers a study of the meteorological elements, the instruments that measure them, and the processes that control them.<br />
ESC483 Senior Project credits: 2<br />
A culminating experience in which the student uses the skills and knowledge acquired in her or his previous preparation in the<br />
execution of an original (to the student) project dealing with an issue, question or problem of importance in the natural sciences or<br />
mathematics. Results of the project are communicated in an oral public presentation and a written paper. Prerequisites: Senior<br />
standing & instructor's permission & 24 credits completed in Natural Science major<br />
FAM311 Family Dynamics & Resource Mgmt (w) credits: 3<br />
This course will provide students with an awareness of basic family theory as a tool for understanding family strengths and<br />
weaknesses, how family members relate to one other, and how families make decisions regarding developing and allocating<br />
resources. Prerequisites: ENG101 & two of the following courses: PSY211, PSY212, SOC345<br />
FAM321 Parent Education & Guidance (w) credits: 3<br />
The purpose of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the general philosophy and broad principles of family<br />
life education in conjunction with the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate such educational programs. Prerequisites: ENG101<br />
& (PSY211 or PSY212)<br />
FAM331 Observation Infant/Toddler Development credits: 3<br />
Designed to provide an in depth study of children from conception through age 30 months using observational and objective<br />
documentation skills. Prerequisites: PSY101 & PSY211<br />
FAM332 Observation Preschool/Young Child Devel credits: 3<br />
Designed to provide an in depth study of children aged 30-60 months using observational and objective documentation skills.<br />
Prerequisites: PSY101 & PSY211<br />
FAM333 The Hospitalized Child credits: 3<br />
Provides fundamental skill in helping children and families cope with the stress of a health care experience through the role of the<br />
child life specialist as a member of the health care team. Prerequisites: PSY211 & PSY212<br />
FAM334 Therapeutic Interventions/Hosp Child credits: 3<br />
Provides an introduction to theory and practice in helping children through play, coping and comfort techniques, as well as<br />
activity planning and adapting activities to the hospital environment through the role of the child life specialist as a member of the<br />
health care team. Prerequisite: FAM333<br />
FAM335 Child Life Specialist Seminar credits: 2<br />
Provides skills for nurturing oneself while providing effective professional care to others.<br />
