Combines research and practical implementation of theories and concepts to solve a work-based problem that demonstrates their<br />

successful integration and application of knowledge, and results in a major written and oral report. Students complete part one of<br />

the seven chapter senior project. (ADP) Prerequisites: GST150 and GST151<br />

PSA485 Senior Project II credits: 3<br />

Students make a critical examination of theories, methods, and findings on human growth and development during childhood.<br />

Includes physical, cognitive, emotional, moral, and social development. Prerequisite: PSY101 or EDU220<br />

PSY212 Adolescent Psychology credits: 3<br />

This course presents critical examination of theories, methods, and findings on human growth and development during<br />

adolescence. Includes physical, cognitive, emotional, moral and social development. Prerequisite: PSY101 or EDU220<br />

PSY214 Psychology of the School Aged Child credits: 4<br />

Students make a critical examination of theories, methods, and findings on human growth and development during childhood and<br />

adolescence. Includes physical, cognitive, moral and social development of children aged 5-18. Prerequisite: PSY101 or EDU220<br />

PSY290 Field Experience I credits: 0<br />

The student is expected to spend at least 20 hours helping one or more persons by applying relevant psychological principles. Off-<br />

Campus Ministries, tutoring someone with special needs, working at a camp, or visiting a confined person are possibilities.<br />

Students examine the uses, development, and evaluation of psychological tests of achievement, aptitude, interests, intelligence,<br />

and personality characteristics. Includes relevant legal and ethical issues. Prerequisites: PSY101 & ENG101 & MAT261<br />

PSY341 Cognitive Psychology credits: 3<br />

Students investigate the processes of perception, learning, memory and critical thinking. Prerequisite: PSY101<br />

PSY342 Social Psychology (w) credits: 3<br />

This course is a study of the influences of social situations on the individual's behaviors, feelings, and thoughts. Prerequisite:<br />

Students explore the interaction of biological and psychological processes. Prerequisite: PSY101<br />

PSY361 Abnormal Psychology credits: 3<br />

This course presents psychological research and theory related to abnormal behavior, focusing on recognized forms of<br />

psychological disorders. Prerequisite: PSY101<br />

PSY362 Personality Psychology credits: 3<br />

A study of classical, modern, and Biblical theories of personality and relevant research studies is presented. Prerequisite: PSY101<br />

REL241 Biblical Literature I - Old Testament credits: 3<br />

This course explores Old Testament Biblical literature within its historical, cultural, and geographical settings in order to<br />

understand its message to God's people then and now. Skills of Biblical interpretation are emphasized. Prerequisite: BIV131<br />
