3.3.2.2 Financial Transparency of CSOs<br />
This indicator was used to assess the percentage of CSOs that publish their financial situation.<br />
A third of the organizations stated that they make their accounts publicly available. This means<br />
that a least two-thirds make no effort to comply with public financial transparency practices.<br />
3.3.2.3 <strong>Civil</strong> <strong>Society</strong> Actions to Promote State and<br />
Corporate Transparency<br />
The INOSC07 provided revealing data on CSO perceptions of civil society’s efforts to promote<br />
transparency in the public sector, namely the government.<br />
Roughly 50% of respondents could not recall any example of public campaigns, actions or<br />
programs organized the previous year by civil society and dedicated to promoting transparency<br />
in government.<br />
As regards the assessment of the current role of civil society in promoting transparency, opinions<br />
were divided between 22% who said that it is insignificant, and 25% who said that it is significant;<br />
32% stated that it is limited compared to 22% who felt it was moderate. In general, the prevailing<br />
opinion (about one-third) is that campaigns on transparency are insignificant.<br />
