Meditation Practice<br />
Meditation practices are enhanced by developing one’s sensitivity<br />
to subtle energy and by exercising to improve postural alignment,<br />
increase flexibility of the spine and deepen relaxation of the physical<br />
body. The next sections present a series of suggested exercises<br />
to help the student meet these goals.<br />
Chi has many sensations. Some of the most common are tingling,<br />
heat, expansion, an electrical sensation (like the feeling of<br />
static electricity), pulsation or effervescence. This is not the actual<br />
Chi itself, but the signs of increasing Chi in a particular area. Chi<br />
itself is more mysterious, subtle beyond definition. For more details<br />

Preparing for the Fusion Meditations<br />
Prepare the Environment<br />
Find a quiet place to meditate where there are no distractions. Some<br />
places have naturally peaceful Chi: mountains, forests, caves,<br />
gardens, monasteries or beautifully designed meditation rooms.<br />
Once you have experienced such a place, you can just recall it.<br />
Set aside a corner of your room for your practice and recall your<br />
connection to the forces of nature.<br />
Keep your meditation place clean and pleasant.<br />
Avoid interruptions. Plan to meditate early in the morning before<br />
other people are awake: the body is rested, the air is fresh, and the<br />
earth itself is energized.<br />
Late at night is also fine. Select a time that works well for you<br />
with your own rhythms and schedule.<br />
If you allow yourself time each day to cleanse your emotional,<br />
energetic and physical bodies, you will soon reap the rewards in<br />
every area of your life.<br />
