Make sure the condylar elements are seated flush against the posterior and superior walls of the condylar guides. Carefully hold the articulator in this position until the MOUNTING STONE has set. Some clinicians like to use a rubber band to stabilize the incisal guide pin against the incisal guide table. Fig. 102 Once the initial mix of MOUNTING STONE has set, remove the material used to stabilize the cast. Prepare a second mix to fill any voids so an aesthetically pleasing product results. Fig. 103 Finally, loosen the incisal guide pin screw and make sure the upper and lower casts contact. Retighten the incisal guide pin screw and make sure the incisal guide pin is positioned in the center of the incisal guide table. If a rubber band has been used to help hold the upper and lower frame together, it should be removed so the upper and lower frames may be easily hinged open. 35
