The President called on the Rev. Jason Roberts, Grace & Holy Trinity, Richmond, and
chair of the Credentials Committee. Mr. Roberts reported that he had examined all
certificates of election.
Resolutions & Canonical Amendments not Previously Submitted
The President called for resolutions and amendments not previously submitted.
The president recognized the Rev. Marian Windel, Church of the Incarnation, Mineral.
Ms. Windel spoke regarding a proposed resolution, designated by the president as R-5,
on Native Americans in Virginia, noting that it needed floor action to be referred to the
Resolution Committee. A motion to admit the resolution for consideration was seconded
and the resolution was admitted.
The president recognized the Rev. Robert Prichard, Virginia Theological Seminary, who
spoke regarding a proposed resolution, designated by the president as R-9, concerning
immigration policy. Mr. Prichard called for a task force on immigration to report to
next Council. A motion to admit the resolution for consideration was seconded and the
resolution was admitted.
The president recognized Russell Randle, Christ Church, Alexandria, who spoke to a
proposed resolution, designated by the president as R-7, regarding Sudan Leadership
and Support. A motion to admit the resolution for consideration was seconded and the
resolution was admitted.
The president recognized the Rev. Paul Rowles, New Kent, who spoke to a proposed
resolution, designated by the president as R-6, and introduced it to the floor for referral to
Resolutions Committee. A motion to admit the resolution for consideration was seconded
and the resolution was admitted.
