Hon. Peter Tom, Acting Presiding Justice, Appellatte Division, First Department,<br />
presented the awards.<br />
The Awards, dedicated to the memory of Bernard Botein, former President<br />
of the <strong>Association</strong>, and Presiding Justice of the First Department,<br />
have been presented annually since 1976 to pay tribute to court personnel<br />
in the First Department who have made outstanding contributions to<br />
the administration of the courts.<br />
This year’s recipients are: Lester E. Dickinson, Principal Appellate Court<br />
Clerk, Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department; Sheng Guo,<br />
Chief Technology Officer, Office of Court Administration; Nancy Hassell,<br />
Principal Court Clerk, Supreme Court, Appellate Term, First Department;<br />
John P. McConnell, Senior Court Clerk, Supreme Court, Bronx County;<br />
and Desmond O’Hanlon, Deputy Chief Clerk, Civil Court, Bronx County.<br />
The medals are made possible by a grant from the Ruth and Seymour<br />
Klein Foundation, Inc.<br />

THE SECOND ANNUAL PRESENTATION OF THE THOMAS E. DEWEY MEDAL,<br />
given every year to an outstanding assistant district attorney in each of<br />
the city’s District Attorney’s offices, was held November 28, 2006, at the<br />
<strong>Association</strong>.<br />
This year’s medal winners this year are: Anne J. Swern, Kings County;<br />
Patrick J. Dugan, <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> County; Anthony M. Communiello, Jr., Queens<br />
County; Yolanda L. Rudich, Richmond County; and Elisa F. Koenderman,<br />
Bronx County.<br />
Albert M. Rosenblatt, then Associate Judge of the <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> Court of<br />
Appeals, presented the awards. The award is sponsored by Dewey Ballantine<br />
LLP, and the winners were selected by the Dewey Medal Committee (Seth<br />
C. Farber, Chair).<br />
