The NDS 2008-<strong>2011</strong> defines the MDGs as a long-term strategic development set of goals for <strong>Moldova</strong><br />
and human rights as medium term priorities. The reintegration of Transnistria and the improvement of the<br />
quality of health services are defined as other prominent goals.<br />
The NDS 2008-<strong>2011</strong> did not provide a deep level of definition of activities for implementing priority<br />
policies. However, the Government Activity <strong>Programme</strong> 2010-2014 closes this gap providing more<br />
insight on how the development goals are expected to be achieved through policy implementation. Health,<br />
gender, demographic policies and youth are defined by the new document as priority sectors for<br />
activities.Themes and strategies defined bythe <strong>UNFPA</strong> CP by end of 2005 also remain highly relevant to<br />
the new Government Activity <strong>Programme</strong> as shows Box 1 below.<br />
