Demand Management Measures<br />

Types <strong>of</strong> projects have included treating and reusing water in manufacturing process or<br />
for cooling towers and new wash equipment with upgraded washers, nozzles and<br />
automated control systems. Two industrial customers have implemented water saving<br />
recommendations and are saving more than 170 AFY.<br />
4.2.10. DMM 10: Wholesale Agency Programs<br />
MWDOC provides financial incentives, conservation-related technical support, and<br />
regional implementation <strong>of</strong> a variety <strong>of</strong> BMP-based programs. In addition, MWDOC<br />
conducts research projects to evaluate implementation <strong>of</strong> both existing programs and new<br />
pilot programs. On behalf <strong>of</strong> its member agencies, MWDOC also organizes and provides<br />
the following:<br />
• Monthly coordinator meetings<br />
• Marketing materials<br />
• Public speaking<br />
• Community events<br />
• American <strong>Water</strong> Works Association/International <strong>Water</strong> Association<br />
(AWWA/IWA) Audit Study<br />
4.2.11. DMM 11: Conservation Pricing<br />
MWDOC publishes annually the <strong>Orange</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Water</strong> Agencies <strong>Water</strong> Rates, <strong>Water</strong><br />
System Operations, and Financial Information survey. This survey documents the rates<br />
charged by each retail water agency, as well as the type <strong>of</strong> rate structure, i.e., a flat rate,<br />
inclined block, or seasonal rate structure. Table 4-8 provides a brief summary <strong>of</strong> the types<br />
<strong>of</strong> rates used by retail water agencies in <strong>Orange</strong> <strong>County</strong> and shows a slow progression<br />
away from uniform rates.<br />
