Key Dates for Implementation If a regional shortage is declared, the allocation period will cover twelve consecutive months, e.g. July 1 st of a given year through June 30. Barring unforeseen large-scale circumstances, the Regional Shortage Level will be set for the entire allocation period, which will provide the client agencies an established water supply shortage allocation amount.
