Admissions to primary school in 2011 to 2012
In cases where there are two or more children with the same distance
measurement (for example if more than one child lives in a block of flats),
where to admit another child would breach the infant class size regulations, a
system will be used to randomly pick who will be offered a place. The parent
can contact the school if more information is required about this.
If the last place available is offered to one of twins (or triplets and so on) the
Governors will offer the place that is available and the parent can decide
which child will take up the place.
Notes:
a) Where parents/guardians are seeking a place under faith criteria
parents/guardians will need to provide evidence of church attendance
of one parent/guardian and of the baptism/dedication of the child. A
form is available to assist parents/carers in this process. Regular
attendance will be taken to mean a minimum of monthly attendance
at church, at public worship, for at least the year prior to 1 st
September in the year before admission to the school.
b) Where admission is sought under exceptional medical or social
needs, the application must be supported by professional references
in which evidence is provided to the governors as to why the child
should attend this school rather than any other school.
c) ‘Brother’ or ‘sister’ includes half, foster and adopted brothers or
sisters living at the same address and full brother or sister living
apart.
d) A map showing the Parish of St. Michael’s & All Angels is available at
the school.
