<strong>Admission</strong> criteria:<br />

It is our intention <strong>to</strong> admit 30 pupils <strong>to</strong> the school at the beginning of the<br />

academic year 201. Children are admitted <strong>to</strong> school in the year in which<br />

they are five and, initially, on a part-time basis <strong>to</strong> give them a gradual and a<br />

comfortable start <strong>to</strong> their school life.<br />

If the demand exceeds the number of places available, priority will be given<br />

<strong>to</strong>:-<br />

1. Children in Public Care<br />

2. Church involvement – being children whose parents/carers are<br />

communicant members of St. Catharine’s Parish Church, Scholes,<br />

<strong>Wigan</strong> and attend at least once a month for the previous 12 months,<br />

up <strong>to</strong> the time of application(a letter must accompany applications<br />

from the appropriate Clergy)<br />

3. Children who will have a brother and/or sister attending school at<br />

time of admission<br />

4. Children who attend Sunday <strong>School</strong> or whose parents/carers attend<br />

Churches in fellowship with the Church of England and attend at<br />

least once per month, for the previous 12 months, up <strong>to</strong> the time of<br />

application (a letter must accompany applications from<br />

the appropriate Clergy)<br />

5. Children who have been baptised in<strong>to</strong> the Anglican Faith<br />

6. Children living within the Parish boundary<br />

7. Any other children who express a preference for a place at St.<br />

Catharine’s.
