Admissions to primary school in 2011 to 2012 Further appeals We will normally only let parents appeal once to a particular school in any school year. We will only consider an application for the same school in the same school year in exceptional situations, such as a significant and material change in your or your child’s circumstances (for example, a change of address from a different area which would put your application in a higher priority group). If your child is distressed at not being offered a place at the school they wanted, we do not consider this as a significant and material change in circumstances.
Admissions to primary school in 2011 to 2012 Information about schools Open days Wigan schools will hold open days for parents and pupils. You can contact each school for details. School prospectus The governors of each school publish a prospectus which contains information about the school such as policies, results and lessons. You can get a free prospectus from each school. You can download some school prospectuses from the school’s website. The website address is shown on the page for each school. Ofsted reports Schools are regularly inspected by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted). You can get copies of Ofsted reports from schools or read them on the Ofsted website at www.ofsted.gov.uk School achievement and attainment tables You can check yearly school achievement and attainment tables online at www.dcfs.gov.uk/performancetables. You may also find information about examination results in each school’s prospectus.
