yaptırımlar sonrasında Moskova’nın da yaptırım
ilan eden ülkelere karşı başlattığı sebze-meyve
ve gıda ürünleri ambargosu,
Türkiye’deki üreticileri heyecanlandırmaya
yetmişti. Rusya pazarında oluşan boşluğu
doldurma niyetinde olan Türk üreticiler
hemen çalışmalara başladı. Ancak, burada
da bazı sorunların olduğu ortaya çıktı. 2014
yılı içerisinde Türkiye’den Rusya’ya ihracatın
yüzde 13 azalmış olması dikkat çekti.
Hala çözülememiş bazı yapısal sorunların
olduğu aşikâr.
İki ülke arasındaki ilişkilerin önemli kalemlerinden
birisi de turizm. Geçen yıl 4,3 milyon
Rusya vatandaşı Türkiye’de tatil yapmayı
tercih etmişti. Rusya’da yaşanan devalüasyon
ve buna bağlı ekonomik sıkıntılardan
dolayı 2015 yaz sezonu için aynı şeyleri söylemek
zor.
Ukrayna krizi sonrasında Moskova’nın
doğuya doğru yönelimi bütün dünyanın
dikkatini üzerine çekiyor. Çin, Hindistan,
Pakistan ve İran ile yakın zamanda gerçekleşen
görüşmeler bunun ispatı durumunda.

there is no doubt that even putting the
subject on the agenda became a motivation
in Turkey-Russia relations. Turkey
buys hydrocarbon resources such as oil
and natural gas from Russia, and it also
made its first nuclear power plant construction
agreement with Russia. In this
scope, the most surprising point is the
making of such an important declaration
in an unexpected time and manner.
Erdoğan and Putin did not only talk about
energy, they also discussed the economic
relations between the two countries. In
particular, Turkey’s refraining from the
sanctions against Russia was welcomed
warmly by Moscow.
The trade volume between Turkey and
Russia was approximately $33 billion in
2013. Both countries aimed to reach $100
billion a few years ago. This target was
brought forward again during the visit
and the two countries reaffirmed their
commitment in this regard. The $100 billion
target seems unlikely to reach in the
short term due to Russia’s current situation
after the crisis with Ukraine and the
Euro zone economic crisis. But undoubtedly
it accelerated the economic relations.
Fruit-vegetables and food embargo
declared by Moscow against the West as a
counter-attack was enough to excite producers
in Turkey. Turkish producers
immediately began working to fill the gap
in the Russian market. However, some
problems were discovered. It is important
to note that Turkey’s exports to Russia
decreased by 13 percent in 2014. It is evident
that there are some structural problems
still unresolved.
One of the major item in the relations
between the two countries is tourism.
Last year, 4.3 million Russian citizens preferred
Turkey as a holiday destination. It
is difficult to expect a similar trend for the
2015 summer season because of the devaluation
in Russia and related economic difficulties.
After the Ukraine crisis, Moscow’s tendency
to the East attracts the attention of
the whole world. Negotiations with countries
such as China, India, Pakistan and
Iran prove that. Facing the reactions of
the West, Moscow wants to freshen up its
relations with old acquaintances in the
East and build new multi-dimensional
relations with new ones. When we consider
the relations developed after 1992
and especially the events occurred after
