TRADE & INVESTMENT FUNCTION COMMITTEE
With the intent to promote and facilitate growth, internationalisation
and networking for members, the Trade and Investment Function
Committee, chaired by Mr Renny Yeo, Vice President of SMa,
continued to seek and promote business opportunities in trade,
investment and strategic cooperation within and outside of
Singapore.
2005 was an eventful year for the Function Committee (FC) as
it proactively partnered with government agencies and trade
associations to organise seminars, trade fairs and missions as
well as advised members on various government assistance
programmes and overseas market opportunities. The FC’s role was
further enhanced as formal dialogues with government agencies
were held to foster a stronger government-business relationship.
HIGHLIGHTS
A. Seminars & Networking Sessions
In 2005, the Trade and Investment FC organised
and supported more than 20 seminars,
conferences and networking sessions for its
members. These events highlighted the
prospects in the emerging markets and informed
on the global investment climate to better equip
members for future challenges in the global
market. In addition, the networking and business
matching sessions organised locally and
overseas were valuable platforms for members to
form partnerships and to identify business
opportunities.
