LIFESTYLE INDUSTRY GROUP (LFS)
SMa Lifestyle Industry Group (LFS) sets the following objectives for
the Term 2004 / 2006:
To promote networking through social programmes and
programmes related to the lifestyle & lifestyle-related industry
To create opportunities for business development through trade
missions, exhibitions and networking sessions.
LFS met every month to plan a variety of programmes, seminars,
talks and activities for its members to network and to promote the
interest of LFS.
HIGHLIGHTS
LFS meetings were mostly held at the premises of
its committee members. Eu Yan Sang International
Ltd hosted the fi rst Lifestyle Committee Meeting on
20 January 2005. After discussing at length the
year’s events & programmes, committee members
were treated to the famous “Tea-Leaf Egg” and tea
by Eu Yan Sang.

In September 2005, the IG bid farewell to its
Deputy Chairperson, Mdm Tan Lay Keow of
Everfi rst Pte Ltd. The IG then elected its new
Deputy Chairman, Mr Justin Tan of The Seafood
International Market & Restaurant Pte Ltd on 26
October 2005.
To whet members’ appetite for durians and to
create networking opportunities, LFS organised
a “Durian Appreciation Nite” at the premise of
FarEastFlora at Thomson Road on 31 May 2005,
after its committee meeting there.
Mr Alun Chow of 101 Fresh Fruits Trading
enlightened on the know-how of selecting good
durians. Response from participants was overwhelming
as everyone present was treated to
different grades & types of durians, including
the famous D24 durians. Many left with bags of
durians bought at special wholesale price from
101 Fresh Fruits Trading.
Before the year drew to a close, LFS held its
last committee meeting at SMa premise on
29 November 2005 to discuss 2006 events
& programmes. A major plan in 2006 was
to organise a trade mission to China in mid-
February 2006 for LFS members. Following the
meeting, a “Travel Forum” was held jointly with
OAG to educate participants on the ease of
on-line fl ight and hotel booking. Fabulous prizes
such as Christian Dior watches were won by
participants.
LFS committee members toured the Royal
Selangor Pewter Centre showroom on 2
June 2005, after its committee meeting at the
premise located at Clarke Quay. Besides the
rare opportunity to make their own pewter
dish, each committee member went home
with their individualized creation, a certifi cate of
