<strong>Internationalism</strong>, Political Expansion, and Continuity
If we talk about internationalism and its expansion during these
hard times we are living in Columbia, we are compelled to specify some
points.
1. Though the image of Columbia is shown everywhere in the world by
the media as exclusively a place of crime and violence, the inner
reality is not this one.
Yes, these things happen, but they are
not the only reality.
2. For this reason all Columbians who believe in our cultural and
social values feel the necessity to spread the positive and valid
elements we have at an international level.
3. The word "international" these days, and from the point of view
of Columbia, is given in a. definition .. that;"merges the" gegg:rapmc
with the philosophic elements, because our point of view does not
allow us to separate these two categories at first sight.
4. The positive outcome generated by this situation is that we feel
obliged to reach a position that may ransom our true dimension.
In light of the above mentioned points, it is easy to understand the
interest we have in these international exhibitions as a means of showing
the cultural and artistical processes internationally in our countx:y.
But
it is necessax:y to analyze in which way this participation has to be made,
since up to now both participation and selection modalities have led us to
send one or two artists who by this means consolidate their position at a
local level.
