ENGINE PERFORMANCE COURSE<br />
COURSE OBJECTIVE<br />
After completing this training participants should be able to maximize the performance of<br />
the engines under their supervision, maintain the engine in a safe manner and make more<br />
effective contribution to the operation of the machinery. Respond correctly, by means of<br />
observing and analysing the operating data, given parameters, engine output and ambient<br />
condition where the engine is operating, thereby reducing breakdown and maintenance<br />
cost. This course may also be delivered using other brands of engine.<br />
CONTENT OF THE COURSE<br />
• Design and function of scavenge air cooler<br />
• Effects of dirty air cooler, condensed water<br />
• Engine power estimation<br />
• Diesel engine combustion process<br />
• Correction of performance parameters, specification of fuel, fuel oil calculation<br />
• Cylinder liner/ piston rings condition analysis<br />
• Testing and calibration of fuel injection equipment<br />
• Fuel and lube oil management<br />
• Case scenarios in the engine simulator<br />
PREREQUISITES<br />
Management level engineers.<br />
