2-STROKE ENGINE COURSE GENERIC<br />
COURSE OBJECTIVE<br />
The objective of the 2-stroke Engine Course Generic (2SEC) is to enable the trainees to<br />
maintain the engine in a safer manner, and to be able to contribute more effectively to<br />
the operation of the machinery. The trainees will learn the basics of evaluation of engine<br />
operation parameters and maintenance planning. This course may also be delivered using<br />
other brands of engine.<br />
CONTENT OF THE COURSE<br />
• The principles of 2-stroke operation<br />
• Component design and function concepts<br />
• Starting systems<br />
• Cooling arrangements<br />
• Instrumentation and controls<br />
• Fuel systems<br />
• Hands-on training on 2-stroke engine and engine simulator<br />
PREREQUISITES<br />
The trainees should have a basic knowledge of diesel engine principles, and some<br />
operational experience of engine room systems and components. Theoretical education on<br />
internal combustion engines is preferred.<br />
