21 RELATED PARTY TRANSACTIONS<br />

<strong>Taranaki</strong> <strong>District</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Board</strong> is a wholly owned entity of the Crown. The Government significantly influences the role of the <strong>Board</strong> as well as being its<br />

major source of revenue.<br />

<strong>Taranaki</strong> <strong>District</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Board</strong> enters into numerous transactions with government departments and other Crown agencies outside of the funding<br />

relationship. Where these parties are acting in the course of their normal dealings with <strong>Taranaki</strong> <strong>District</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Board</strong>, related party disclosures have<br />

not been made for transactions of this nature.<br />

Related Party Transactions and Balances<br />

(a) Funding<br />

<strong>Taranaki</strong> <strong>District</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Board</strong> received $295m from the Ministry of <strong>Health</strong> to provide health services to the <strong>Taranaki</strong> area (<strong>2010</strong>: $287m). The amount<br />

outstanding at year end was $4.87m (<strong>2010</strong>: $4.79m).
