1 Introduction 1.1 This Strategic Business Plan The strategic business plan sets out Coffs Harbour Water's (CHW) long term plans for the operation, management, maintenance and development of the water supply and sewerage schemes. This document covers both the water supply and the sewerage systems, reflecting the way these businesses are managed by CHW. The document has been kept brief in order to make it relevant and easy to read, understand and update. The direction and targets contained in this document were discussed in a workshop in Coffs Harbour on 19 July 2011. This Strategic Business Plan satisfies the requirements set out in the best-practice management guidelines (2007) and strategic business plan guidelines (2011) by the NSW Office of Water. 1.2 Context Strategic business plans for water supply and sewerage have been prepared by local water utilities in NSW for nearly 20 years. Having an up to date strategic business plan is one of the six criteria that need to be met in order to achieve best-practice compliance, as defined in Best-Practice Management of Water Supply and Sewerage, Guidelines, August 2007.
