SERVICE DELIVERY Council has adopted resource sharing as a means of reducing costs of operating the water supply and sewerage systems. Management of major water supply and sewerage projects, design, constructions and specialist services are managed by Council staff using a variety of procurement options. Council will continue to review options for resource sharing both with other business areas within Council and with external organisations. Refer to Section 6. CUSTOMER SERVICE • Areas Serviced The majority of Coffs Harbour's urban areas are serviced. Some towns and villages (mainly rural) are not feasible to service and others have community opposition to service. Refer to Section 7.2. • Demand Management CHW average annual residential water demand per property is similar to other coastal areas. See section 7.3 for details. CHW has a demand management plan in place. It is expected that continuing demand management implementation will maintain the demand per residential property at a reasonable level. Regional Water Supply Water Efficiency Program updated 2011. • Infiltration Management High inflow and infiltration of stormwater into the sewerage system is an issue for CHW. CHW is investigating the problem and reducing inflow and infiltration in the sewerage systems. Refer to Section 7.4.
