7 . DISTRIBUTION OF SOILS<br />
The distribution of soils is designated according to Geological<br />
Survey of Canada map units as outlined in Table 4 . Soil information<br />
is interpreted as illustrated by the following example .<br />
The mapping unit, Moraine Plain, is indicated on the surficial<br />
map as tMp, tMpv and tMv . The distribution of dominant soils in<br />
Zone 6S on this mapping unit is as follows :<br />
well drained portions,<br />
40 percent Brunisolic Gray Luvisol and Orthic Gray Luvisol ; imperfectly<br />
drained portions,<br />
20 percent Gleyed Gray Luvisol and Gleyed Brunisolic<br />
Gray Luvisol ; and poorly drained portions, 40 percent Rego Gleysol<br />
and Cryic Rego Gleysol .<br />
The soils denoted by an asterisk (*) are those influenced by<br />
cryoturbation .<br />
The dominant vegetation types are also included and species are<br />
abbreviated and grouped according to the moisture condition and the<br />
zones .
