2. Examination regulations<br />

SVDB-NE14, Rev. 2 (18.2.1986), procedure for in-service inspection<br />

and supervision <strong>of</strong> nuclear power plant components subject to<br />

acceptance and belonging to safety categories 1-4.<br />

3. Examination time schedule<br />

3.1 The baseline inspection took place after the pressure testing <strong>of</strong><br />

the primary system. For the pressurizer, which was already pressure<br />

tested on completion <strong>of</strong> fabrication, this means that the baseline<br />

inspection followed the second component pressure test.<br />

3.2 The SVDB is invited in due course by the KKG to undertake<br />

supervision <strong>of</strong> the baseline and in-service <strong>In</strong>spection test.<br />

Announcement <strong>of</strong> the test is issued with the relevant annual or<br />

outage inspection schedules.<br />

4. Examination conditions<br />

4.1 Examination <strong>of</strong> the pressurizer proceeds in accordance with the<br />

component examination programme tables.<br />

4.2 <strong>In</strong> principle, the tests are conducted from the outside only, after<br />

removal <strong>of</strong> the insulation.<br />

Justification; After operation startup, a specific activity <strong>of</strong> 57<br />

(gas) or 11 (water) Ci/m 3 is to be expected in the<br />

interior <strong>of</strong> the pressurizer.<br />

Exception :<br />

Visual <strong>In</strong>spection <strong>of</strong> the internal plating and<br />

internal components in the area <strong>of</strong> the handhole<br />

nozzle.<br />

N.B. Owing to the built-in thermal skirt, internal<br />

inspection <strong>of</strong> the vessel wall is not possible<br />

from the manhole.<br />

4.3 The test methods and specifications together with the test<br />

programme for the individual test areas can be seen from the<br />

component examination programme table.<br />

4.4 The position and designation <strong>of</strong> the welds or examination zones can<br />

be seen from Annex 1.<br />
