Experience and expertise<br />

Mr Howson is recognised as one of<br />

the leading figures in the Australian<br />

automotive retailing industry with<br />

hands on experience gained in a<br />

career spanning 30 years.<br />

Mr Howson was appointed CEO of<br />

<strong>AHG</strong> in January 2000 and became<br />

Managing Director in 2007. During<br />

this time he established a track<br />

record of driving profitable growth.<br />

He successfully led <strong>AHG</strong> from being<br />

a private group with operations<br />

largely based in Western Australia<br />

to becoming the leading listed<br />

specialist Automotive and Logistics<br />

Group in Australia.<br />

This depth of industry knowledge<br />

and expertise is founded in his<br />

pioneering a successful automotive<br />

parts business, which he sold to<br />

<strong>AHG</strong> in 1988.<br />

Mr Howson is President and Life<br />

Member of the East Perth Football<br />

Club and was awarded honorary<br />

life membership of Rocky Bay for<br />

his support of the charity. Under<br />

Mr Howson’s leadership, <strong>AHG</strong> has<br />

continued its long tradition of<br />

supporting a range of important<br />

charitable and community causes.<br />

Mr McEniry has over twentyfive<br />

years experience in the<br />

automotive industry including<br />

most recently five years as Chair,<br />

President and CEO of Mitsubishi<br />

Motors Australia <strong>Limited</strong>. Prior<br />

to that he held a number of<br />

senior executive roles including<br />

Director of Marketing for General<br />

Motors Holden, Vice President –<br />

Commercial and Marketing for<br />

Saab Automobile AB of Sweden,<br />

CEO of South Pacific Tyres Pty<br />

Ltd, Melbourne and CEO of<br />

Nucleus Network, Melbourne.<br />

Mr McEniry is currently a director<br />

of Multiple Sclerosis Society<br />

<strong>Limited</strong>, Australian Home Care<br />

Services Pty Ltd and Stillwell<br />

Motor Group. Mr McEniry is also<br />

chair of EV Engineering Pty Ltd<br />

and chair of the Advisory Board,<br />

Department of Management at<br />

Monash University.<br />

Mr Smith was appointed as<br />

a non-executive director on<br />

6 May 2010 and deputy chairman<br />

on 7 February 2011. Mr Smith<br />

operates a marketing and strategy<br />

consultancy firm Black House,<br />

which consults to a number of<br />

leading Australian companies. In<br />

addition to this he chairs Synergy,<br />

WA’s largest energy retailer, iiNet<br />

Ltd, Australia’s second largest<br />

internet service provider and<br />

is a past chairman of the Perth<br />

International Arts Festival, the<br />

West Coast Eagles, Barking<br />

Gecko Theatre Company and<br />

Scotch College (Perth). He is also<br />

a director of 7-Eleven Stores Pty<br />

Ltd and Vice President of the<br />

Australian Institute of Company<br />

Directors WA. Mr Smith’s private<br />

consultancy, Black House, advises<br />

sector leading companies including<br />

Navitas, Hawaiian, Brightwater and<br />

the Satterley Property Group.<br />
