The City of Calgary, Seniors Services Division
provides a wide range of services for seniors
from direct services to community development.
CITY LINKS pROgRAMS
• home Maintenance Services
City Links assists low income seniors to live
safely and independently in their own
homes. The program provides basic yard
care, snow removal, house cleaning,
interior/exterior painting and minor repairs.
Home maintenance services are provided by
City Links trainees under the supervision of
city staff.
Who is Eligible for the Program:
Seniors (65+) who are:
• Living on low incomes (income will be
verified) and if homeowners, own no
other property
• Unable to do basic house or yard work
• Without family or community assistance
Generally, there is a waiting period for all
services with the exception of emergency
situations.
• Employment preparation and Training
City Links provides a safe and supportive
work environment where men and women
experiencing barriers to employment can
receive paid work experience, vocational
counseling, life management instructions,
CPR and First Aid Training. Workers provide
home maintenance to low-income seniors.
City Links welcomes new trainees who are
18 years of age and older and are able to
perform physical work and who speak and
understand intermediate English.
Employment opportunities are available
throughout the year. No referral is necessary
and prospective workers can call 403-974-3112
and ask to speak to someone on the hiring
team for additional information and/or an
interview.
