Calgary Transit Mission Statement<br />

To provide safe, accessible and courteous<br />

public transportation services in response<br />

to the needs <strong>of</strong> our customers.<br />

Calgary Transit is an integrated system that<br />

includes:<br />

• Accessible CTrains and Stations<br />

• Low floor buses<br />

• Access Calgary shared-ride service<br />

• Driver training and awareness<br />

• Travel Training<br />

• Attendant Card program<br />

• Senior Citizens Transit Pass<br />

• Low-Income Transit Pass<br />

What is Access Calgary<br />

Access Calgary is a division <strong>of</strong> Calgary<br />

Transit and provides door-to-door public<br />

transportation service for Calgarians who<br />

may not always be able to use fixed-route<br />

(regular) Calgary Transit buses and CTrains.<br />

Access Calgary <strong>of</strong>fers a call-in-advance,<br />

shared-ride transportation within the city<br />

limits <strong>of</strong> Calgary.<br />

Access Calgary is responsible for determining<br />

the eligibility <strong>of</strong> customers, booking,<br />

scheduling and dispatching <strong>of</strong> trips. We contract<br />

with Calgary HandiBus, Southland<br />

Transportation and taxi companies to provide<br />

drivers and vehicles for the service.<br />

The goal <strong>of</strong> Access Calgary is to match the<br />

needs <strong>of</strong> the individuals with the available<br />

public transportation services<br />

Who is eligible<br />

Persons determined through an application<br />

process as unable to use Calgary Transit<br />

fixed route services.<br />

hours and Fares<br />

Vehicles operate 7 days a week,<br />

6 am – 12 midnight.<br />

Cost for shared-ride trips is a Calgary Transit<br />

youth or adult transit ticket, a monthly<br />

youth or adult pass (including the Low-<br />

Income Transit Pass).<br />
