T2G 2P9 www.mealsonwheels.com • Provides two nutritious meals, a hot lunch and a cold supper, for seniors (60+), disabled, and convalescents in Calgary. Delivery is Monday to Friday 11am - 1pm. Two extra meals can be ordered on Friday for the weekend. Priced on a sliding scale. • Magic Meals: Home style frozen dinners delivered once a week at a cost of $5.25 per meal. Fifteen different entrees; ideal for those who do not need full meal service. • Food and Caring: Delivery of hot meals that can be shared with family and friends during difficult times. • Food and Fellowship: Delivery of meals to be shared with 10 or more seniors in a group setting. • Chopsticks on Wheels: For Chinese seniors (60+), convalescents, or those with a disability. Delivery Monday to Friday, of one traditional hot meal each day. This Chinese style meal consists of meat, poultry or fish, rice, and vegetables. Cost $5.25 per day. T1Y 5E1 www.calgaryseniors.org • Assisted Shopping: Volunteers are matched one-on-one with seniors for reoccurring shopping trips. In addition to providing transportation, volunteers offer companionship and social support. Shopping is not limited to groceries. Any senior can apply but assistance may be prioritized by need. gOVERNMENT Congratulatory Messages • For special birthdays and wedding anniversaries, messages can be sent from the Mayor, Premier, Member of Parliament, Prime Minister, Governor General, and Queen. Guidelines are in place specifying which birthdays and anniversaries qualify for a message. For example, M.P.s will send a message on a 65th birthday and every fifth year after, or a 25th wedding anniversary and every fifth year after. Messages from the Queen start on a 100th birthday or a 60th wedding anniversary. Four to six weeks notice is advisable except for the Queen, when two months notice is required.
