• Lodges provide room, board and housekeeping<br />

services. Subsidized lodge accommodation<br />

is available through MCF<br />

• Provides room and board accommodation<br />

for people 65 years and over who are able to<br />

care for themselves. <strong>Services</strong> include housekeeping<br />

and 24-hour non-medical monitoring.<br />

Interested seniors are advised to phone<br />

the above number for an application form<br />

and not to apply directly to the lodges.<br />

• Persons may be eligible for this program<br />

if they have a severe handicap that<br />

prevents them from earning a living.<br />

Medical documentation is required and<br />

the applicant must be at least 18 years <strong>of</strong><br />

age and not eligible for Old Age Security<br />

(OAS). Income and assets <strong>of</strong> the applicant,<br />

their spouse or cohabiting partner<br />

are assessed when determining eligibility.<br />

AISH application forms may be requested<br />

• Income Support is a provincial program,<br />

which provides financial benefits to individuals<br />

and families who do not have<br />

enough money for the basics like food,<br />

clothing and shelter. The level <strong>of</strong> assistance<br />

varies depending on each individual’s<br />

situation including financial resources,<br />

ability to work and the number <strong>of</strong> children<br />

in the family. People receiving Income<br />

Support receive medical benefits as well.<br />
