<strong>in</strong> 2003 to 9.6 million <strong>in</strong> October 2009 (4.6<br />
times higher).<br />

Accord<strong>in</strong>g to a new OECD report (June 2008), Spa<strong>in</strong> ranks 9 th amongst the OECD countries <strong>in</strong> Broadband subscribers.<br />
Note:<br />
S<strong>in</strong>ce 2002 the population of Spa<strong>in</strong> has <strong>in</strong>creased by 4 million <strong>in</strong>habitants, with average annual growth of 2%. Spa<strong>in</strong> is the country which grew most <strong>in</strong> relative terms of all the<br />
EU-27 (Spa<strong>in</strong>: 1.64% vs. EU-27: 0.40%).<br />
Under the assumption that the population of Spa<strong>in</strong> had grown at the same rate as the EU-27 average (CAGR 2002-2007=0.55) the penetration of Broadband at the end of<br />
December 2007 would be 19.3%<br />
