Development of <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Society</strong> <strong>in</strong> Spa<strong>in</strong>:<br />
Networked Adm<strong>in</strong>istration<br />
• At the end of September 2009, 2,062 computers had been <strong>in</strong>stalled <strong>in</strong><br />
Magistrates’ Courts. <strong>The</strong> number of computerized Magistrates’ Courts<br />
amounted to 1,478.<br />
• Over 80,600 Registrar Books and near 57 million pages have been digitalized<br />
until the end of September 2009. Around 180.000 pages are digitalized every day.<br />
• 130 penitentiaries are equipped with computer rooms and 6,632 PCs for<br />
tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>mates and staff <strong>in</strong> ICT, and have improved communication with the<br />
exterior by <strong>in</strong>stall<strong>in</strong>g videoconference rooms.<br />
