• <strong>Plan</strong> <strong>Avanza</strong> has been designed to place Spa<strong>in</strong> on a top position<br />
with<strong>in</strong> the <strong>Information</strong> and Knowledge <strong>Society</strong>, to improve its<br />
economic productivity and the general welfare of all Spanish<br />
citizens.<br />
• <strong>The</strong> budget for the <strong>Plan</strong> <strong>in</strong> the period 2005 – 2009 surpasses 6.5<br />
billion €, five times as much as the amount devoted to <strong>in</strong>formation<br />
<strong>Society</strong> <strong>in</strong>itiatives <strong>in</strong> the previous four years.<br />
• Results so far show that measures put <strong>in</strong> place s<strong>in</strong>ce late 2005 are -<br />
<strong>in</strong>deed- the best way to go.<br />
• All areas <strong>in</strong> <strong>Avanza</strong> will be re<strong>in</strong>forced s<strong>in</strong>ce 2009, for the <strong>Plan</strong><br />
<strong>Avanza</strong>Dos to surpass its global goals <strong>in</strong> 2012 – and beyond.<br />
