Recent analysts’ opinions … (II) IDC – Press release 22-11-2008 (Update TOP 10 Predictions (26-01-2009) • ‘The Spanish IT services market will continue to be the fastest growing market across Western Europe up to 2012’. • ‘IDC foresees that, by 2012, Spain will be the fourth largest IT services spender in EU after the U.K., Germany and France’ [surpassing Italy]. • ‘IDC has recently produced Spanish 2008 figures. IT market rate of growth has amounted to 5.7%, whereas ICT market has climbed to 3.2%. • ‘2009 prospects point out to a flattening of the ICT sector, but 2010 will bear witness to a growth over 2% • ‘What is Spain's magic ingredient for continuous high growth The IT sophistication of some industries combined with the public sector modernization effort has helped to spur growth in IT services. For the past few years, central and local governments have been modernizing their IT applications and infrastructures and will continue to do so to catch up with the rest of Europe. Recent analysts’ opinions … (III) IBM – Report on ICT Direct Foreign Investment 2007, October 2008 • In 2007, Spain ranked 8th worldwide in terms of total employment created by Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the ICT sector. • Spain climbs 14 positions in this ranking, up from 22th in 2006. • FDI in the ICT sector created 24,000 jobs in Spain in 2007, of which 3,600 jobs were created directly in the ICT sector and the rest in subsidiary industries and sectors. PriceWaterHouseCoopers - Global Entertainment and Media Outlook 2008 - 2012 • PwC forecasts point out that Spain will be one of the world’s on-line advertising markets to show a higher growth in 2008 - 2012. • CAGR for the Spanish on-line advertising will reach 37.2%, compared to the average 22.1% for EMEA. • The Spanish digital content market represents 2.2% of the world’s global market. This percentage will increase up to a 2.4% in 2012*. Everis – The market for telecommunications in the Spanish SMEs, November 2008 • Higher sophistication in the use of ICT by SMEs: • Almost 80% of Spanish SMEs have contracted fixed voice, mobile and broadband services, up 13% from 2007.
