Brother Bobby Chin Yoke Choong was appointed to the Board of Directors of the
Singapore Labour Foundation (SLF) in 2007. He is also the Deputy Chairman of the
NTUC Enterprise Co-operative Limited, and chairs the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC)
of both organisations. He is also a Member of the Council of Presidential Advisors
of the Republic of Singapore, and a Member of the Competition Commission of
Singapore.
Brother Bobby is a strong advocate of the Labour
Movement’s (LM) ‘Do Good’ and ‘Do Well’ objectives, and
of SLF’s support to LM for programmes that benefit working
people and their families.
A major contribution of Brother Bobby is his chairmanship of the SLF ARC where he
actively promoted good corporate governance within SLF. He played an important
role in strengthening the quality of financial reporting, and ensuring that a robust risk
management framework is in place. He also provided guidance on the implementation
of appropriate and effective internal controls that address business risks.
As the Deputy Chairman of NTUC Enterprise Co-operative Limited, Brother Bobby
lends his strong credential serving on the boards of many public companies in various
industries to support sustainable scaling up of NTUC’s social enterprises to create even
more value for working families.
In recognition of his invaluable contributions, the National Trades Union Congress is
pleased to present Brother Bobby Chin Yoke Choong with the Friend of Labour Award.
