年 一 度 的 溫 哥 華 水 族 館 籌 款 晚 會 , 今 年 再 次 閃
一 亮 登 場 。 美 味 的 「Ocean Wise」 海 鮮 讓 大 家
在 參 與 慈 善 的 同 時 大 飽 口 福 。 據 悉 , 這 個 由 溫 哥 華 水 族
館 創 立 的 基 金 , 主 要 用 來 支 持 目 前 廣 受 關 注 的 「Ocean
Wise」 項 目 , 即 引 導 人 們 更 多 地 食 用 可 持 續 捕 撈 的 海 產
種 類 , 從 而 緩 解 目 前 的 過 度 捕 撈 現 象 。
本 次 晚 宴 的 接 待 活 動 由 溫 哥 華 著 名 意 大 利 餐 廳 Cin-
Cin 負 責 籌 劃 , 美 味 的 特 色 菜 餚 和 精 緻 甜 品 , 則 來 自 Vancouver’s
Burdock & Co、 Forage、 Daniel Le Chocolat
Belge 以 及 Fraiche 等 溫 哥 華 和 西 溫 哥 華 的 餐 廳 和 甜 品 店 。
當 晚 還 舉 辦 了 一 場 慈 善 拍 賣 會 , 來 賓 們 對 這 項 慈 善 基 金
的 熱 情 , 讓 人 們 對 未 來 的 海 洋 生 態 保 護 充 滿 信 心 。
拍 賣 會 後 , 水 族 館 裏 的 動 物 明 星 們 登 上 舞 臺 與 其 他
藝 術 家 合 作 表 演 , 為 當 晚 畫 上 了 一 個 興 味 盎 然 、 生 機 勃
勃 的 圓 滿 句 號 。
This year, Vancouver Aquarium’s fundraising gala was
a splashing success. The fantasy evening was filled
with an enchanting aquatic atmosphere, fresh Ocean
Wise seafood, and a charity auction, successfully combining
entertainment, fundraising and the conservation of our
friends in the sea. The popular Ocean Wise program, started
by the Vancouver Aquarium and supported by funds raised at
the gala, certifies a menu item as a sustainable seafood option
rather than from a potentially overfished source.
CinCin catered the VIP reception while the main event
featured delicacies prepared by Vancouver’s Burdock & Co,
Forage, Daniel Le Chocolat Belge, and West Vancouver’s Fraiche,
among others. Funds to further the conservation projects
developed by this world class aquarium were brought to new
levels with the fast-paced flow of the night’s auctioneer, Greg
Rollo. With performances by human and nonhuman entertainers,
this year’s gala was successful in raising over $350,000
for the Aquarium, and providing guests with a night to look
forward to each year.
