From the above summary and crash statistics, it is assumed with the long sections <strong>of</strong> road and recorded<br />

high speeds that speed maybe an influence and contributed to the incidences <strong>of</strong> crashes.<br />

Of the reported crashes <strong>for</strong> the sites excluded from the study, one was at night and all crashes where in<br />

dry conditions. Only one <strong>of</strong> the sixteen crashes occurred midblock with a summary <strong>of</strong> the reported<br />

crashes detailing location, number and type <strong>of</strong> crashes is summarised below:<br />

Curtis Road / Mingari Street junction. 7 crashes have occurred at this location with 3 <strong>of</strong> the crashes<br />

being a result <strong>of</strong> Right Angle crashes (that is, a crash occurring with vehicles turning right out <strong>of</strong> a<br />

side street);<br />

Main North Road / Karri Street junction. 4 crashes have occurred at this location with the majority <strong>of</strong><br />

crashes being a result <strong>of</strong> Side Swipe crashes;<br />

Main North Road / Myall Avenue junction. 3 crashes have occurred at this location with all <strong>of</strong> the<br />

crashes being a result <strong>of</strong> Rear End crashes; and<br />

Alawoona Road / Main North Road. 2 crashes occurred at this location a vehicle hit a fixed object and<br />

there was a side swipe.<br />

A summary <strong>of</strong> the crash type and severity (including location and number) is graphically shown in Figure 8<br />

and Figure 9 respectively.<br />

3.6 Public Transport<br />

<strong>Munno</strong> <strong>Para</strong> is served by the Adelaide to Gawler rail line providing access between Gawler and<br />

Adelaide. <strong>Munno</strong> <strong>Para</strong> is serviced by a number <strong>of</strong> articulated busses directly and indirectly. The 440<br />

service travels to and departs from <strong>Munno</strong> <strong>Para</strong> Station via Mingari Street, Myall Avenue, Maltarra Road,<br />

Karri Street, Noora Crescent, Carcoola Road and Alawoona Road. While the 443 service travels on a<br />

two way ring route through <strong>Munno</strong> <strong>Para</strong> via Mingari Street, Myall Avenue, Maltarra Road, Karri Street,<br />

Noora Crescent, Carcoola Road, Alawoona Road, Myall Avenue and Mingari Street. Both the 440 and<br />

443 enter <strong>Munno</strong> <strong>Para</strong> via Curtis Road.<br />

Indirect transport (park and ride) With the 450, 451, 451P and the E1 departing and terminating from/at<br />

Andrews Farm and travelling along Curtis Road turning in at Peachey Road 1.3 km be<strong>for</strong>e the south <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Munno</strong> <strong>Para</strong>. The 228, 228F, 228X, 441 and 442 buses departing and terminating from Smithfield<br />

Interchange approximately 1.3 km from <strong>Munno</strong> <strong>Para</strong>.<br />
