deficiencies within the local road network. Traffic surveys and analysis of crash data has also been
undertaken, providing engineering data. The information and data gathered has been assessed and
forms the basis of the recommendations of this report.
Supporting the data collected, site visits were undertaken to review the current condition of the road
network and identify existing traffic calming treatments implemented.
1.2 Outcomes
The outcomes of the LATM Plan will be to:
Provide a review of the current road conditions;
Identify the key local road network issues from site observations, traffic data and community
questionnaire surveys;
Identify and recommend feasible and appropriate traffic solutions to:
– Improve resident amenity;
– Improve safety; and
– Manage driver behaviour on the local road network.
Where required these improvements will be made through the implementation of approved traffic
control devices.
1.3 Study Area
Main North Road, Cutis Road and the Gawler to Adelaide rail line as shown in Figure 2 form the limits of
the local traffic study area. The area includes all roads within this boundary, excluding Main North Road
and Curtis Road and their associated junctions and intersection as they are considered major roads that
do not form part of the residential street network.
