On the average, a s<strong>in</strong>gle center works<br />
with approximately 90 companies,<br />
mostly local SMEs.<br />
Each TTC formulates around four bus<strong>in</strong>ess plans per year<br />
as well as support<strong>in</strong>g approximately n<strong>in</strong>e bus<strong>in</strong>esses,<br />
co-f<strong>in</strong>anced by European and domestic funds. The number<br />
of clients for an average technology transfer center ranges<br />
from 500 to 700 people.<br />
Increas<strong>in</strong>g number of centers aid <strong>in</strong> start<strong>in</strong>g academic<br />
sp<strong>in</strong>-off firms. Several TTCs have successfully launched<br />
academic entrepreneurship pre-<strong>in</strong>cubation programs.<br />
In total over 100 sp<strong>in</strong>-offs are founded each year around<br />
the country, mostly by undergraduate, postgraduate and<br />
PhD students.<br />
The outlook for the centers’ development is optimistic.<br />
An <strong>in</strong>tensification of European cooperation <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>novation<br />
and research as well as <strong>in</strong> support<strong>in</strong>g local <strong>in</strong>novation capabilities<br />
<strong>in</strong> accordance with respective regional development<br />
strategies is expected. Further development possibilities<br />
for TTCs were opened by the rapidly grow<strong>in</strong>g NewConnectshare<br />
market, expansion of which is expected to generate<br />
demand for new projects.<br />
