In five years, it hopes to be a leading technology
transfer center. Its major achievement has been
the international partnership in the VALOR project
(www.valor-project.org) and the related exchange of
experiences in the field of technology transfer and
commercialization of scientific research.
Business Point aims to use the most effective model for managing the intellectual
property of the Medical University of Gdańsk which allows for enhanced application
of the University’s patented knowledge. Business Point also participates in the process
of commercialization of the research results conducted by the University. It fulfills its
mission through a variety of means including supporting the protection of the legally
protected property in cooperation with patent agents, identifying information with
substantial market potential, obtaining funds for protection and commercialization,
promotional activities and cooperation with experts and capital sources. Business Point
hopes to find partners interested in cooperating on building optimum methodologies
for use of scientific research, its promotion as well as building relations with European
scientific centers. It is also interested in creating a life science network aimed at
developing competencies, resources and contacts with the industry in the field of
technology transfer. It is looking for companies which have specific needs in the area of
life science, as well as investors interested in research commercialization.
