The Wrocław Center for Technology Transfer is a subsidiary of the Wrocław University<br />
of Technology, founded to connect the worlds of bus<strong>in</strong>ess and science. Its mission is<br />
to <strong>in</strong>crease bus<strong>in</strong>esses’ efficiency and competitiveness through <strong>in</strong>novation. The WCTT<br />
emphasizes promot<strong>in</strong>g the utilization of scientific achievements <strong>in</strong> a modern economy<br />
as well as support<strong>in</strong>g entrepreneurship.<br />
The Wrocław Center for Technology Transfer has taken part <strong>in</strong><br />
about 60 <strong>in</strong>ternational technology transfer agreements. It has<br />
also conducted around 300 technology audits, tra<strong>in</strong>ed over 33,000<br />
people, aided <strong>in</strong> found<strong>in</strong>g nearly 140 <strong>in</strong>novative enterprises and took<br />
part <strong>in</strong> about 70 projects, f<strong>in</strong>anced by the European Commission as<br />
well as from domestic sources.<br />
The Wrocław Center for Technology Transfer is a member of the Enterprise Europe<br />
Network – the largest bus<strong>in</strong>ess support network <strong>in</strong> the world, founded by the<br />
European Union. For years the Center has been runn<strong>in</strong>g the Regional Contact Po<strong>in</strong>t<br />
for Research Programs of the European Union, facilitat<strong>in</strong>g the participation of scientists<br />
and entrepreneurs <strong>in</strong> research projects and provid<strong>in</strong>g access to sources of fund<strong>in</strong>g by<br />
utiliz<strong>in</strong>g knowledge ga<strong>in</strong>ed from the experience of cooperation on a few dozen projects<br />
<strong>in</strong> the EU framework programs. Its services are directed at scientists, entrepreneurs and<br />
science and bus<strong>in</strong>ess consortiums as well as R&D <strong>in</strong>stitutions. This <strong>in</strong>cludes provid<strong>in</strong>g<br />
knowledge and consultancy, tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, aid <strong>in</strong> conduct<strong>in</strong>g bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>in</strong> foreign markets,<br />
f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g partners for companies offer<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>novative products and services, support<br />
<strong>in</strong> prepar<strong>in</strong>g for <strong>in</strong>ternational fairs, contact<strong>in</strong>g potential partners and <strong>in</strong> commercially<br />
utiliz<strong>in</strong>g the latest scientific achievements. It also aids companies <strong>in</strong> compil<strong>in</strong>g their<br />
own technological offers or demands by conduct<strong>in</strong>g comprehensive <strong>in</strong>novation audits<br />
and analyses of the firms’ needs. The Center also participates <strong>in</strong> seek<strong>in</strong>g out sources of<br />
fund<strong>in</strong>g for R&D projects.<br />
