The Regional Center for<br />
<strong>Innovation</strong> and Technology<br />
Transfer was the first domestic<br />
<strong>in</strong>stitution to support cluster<br />
<strong>in</strong>itiatives, and it has managed<br />
them to good effect, while<br />
coord<strong>in</strong>at<strong>in</strong>g new projects.<br />
It creates and develops<br />
competence center branches<br />
which provide scientific<br />
support and consult<strong>in</strong>g<br />
services to enterprises <strong>in</strong> their<br />
respective sectors. Plans are <strong>in</strong><br />
place to expand the Center’s<br />
rental services and employ<br />
consult<strong>in</strong>g experts who will<br />
work as a one-stop shop.<br />
The Regional Center for <strong>Innovation</strong> and Technology Transfer successfully supports<br />
<strong>in</strong>novative <strong>in</strong>itiatives that promote the development of the West Pomerania region.<br />
It engages <strong>in</strong> service and promotional activities <strong>in</strong> the fields of <strong>in</strong>tellectual property.<br />
protection, research and development, technology transfer, knowledge commercia-.<br />
lization, entrepreneurship and <strong>in</strong>novation stimulation. It provides companies with<br />
comprehensive market analyses, organizes tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g courses, supports research<br />
and <strong>in</strong>novation and aids <strong>in</strong> rais<strong>in</strong>g European funds. The Center is a member of the<br />
<strong>in</strong>ternational Enterprise Europe Network, which gathers knowledge on the needs of<br />
European enterprises. It participates actively <strong>in</strong> the development of technology clusters<br />
and the Center’s Entrepreneurship Incubator supports companies <strong>in</strong> their start-up<br />
period. Specific services provided by the Center <strong>in</strong>clude technology audits, professional<br />
advice on <strong>in</strong>novativeness, market analyses, and aid <strong>in</strong> f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>ternational partners<br />
for trade cooperation. Scientists benefit from easier access to funds for research and<br />
development.<br />
The Center’s offer<strong>in</strong>g is directed at students, postgraduates and academics from the<br />
West Pomeranian region as well as SMEs.<br />
