example) may in fact be displayed in <strong>the</strong> browser as plain text by IE, which follows <strong>the</strong> file extension ra<strong>the</strong>r<br />

than <strong>the</strong> MIME type.<br />

While this is clearly undesirable behavior, you should note that somewhere between 70 and 98% of your<br />

audience will be running IE, and you must plan accordingly.<br />

Fortunately, this is not a web design course. However, this is a reminder <strong>to</strong> test with several browsers in<br />

order <strong>to</strong> assure correct behavior everywhere.<br />
