Genec dri, the variaon of the gene pool and/or gene frequency of a populaon, can result from a<br />
variety of stochasc (random) means. Consider the following populaon of buerflies who have half<br />
of their habitat destroyed by wildfire:<br />
The remaining populaon has 50% of the inial gene pool (2 colors) and the gene frequency is different.<br />
As these individuals reproduce, their offspring will no longer reflect the original populaon.<br />
