Barcelonese singer-songwriter<br />

Clara Sanabras and her team of<br />

exceptional musicians in The Real<br />

Lowdown, formed this band in 2006.<br />

Based in London, they have performed in<br />

some of the most prestigious UK venues<br />

and festivals and released two highly<br />

acclaimed albums.<br />

Recently praised for her collaboration<br />

with Natacha Atlas, Clara’s song-writing<br />

skills and unique style of singing were<br />

Roscoe is a genre busting finger style<br />

guitarist, singer-songwriter. Has produced<br />

three self released albums and has<br />

performed widely in Britain and Europe<br />

from busking the terraces of the Albaizin<br />

in Granada to Glastonbury festival.<br />

‘Prices of the Hollow Tree’ have been<br />

voted no. 1 in the listener’s chart of<br />

Radio Free Southwest and ‘Silver River’<br />

gained world wide radio airplay.<br />

International Sound Traveller Mr.Eugene<br />

is an independent folk musician who<br />

writes his own material. He lets rip on<br />

a number of issues and instruments:<br />

electric violin, acoustic and electric<br />

guitars.<br />

Expect Russian or Irish sounding fiddling,<br />

head nodding, and songs including<br />

humour, sex, social criticism, love, and<br />

alcohol. He pushes and pulls in various<br />

musical directions, mixing international<br />

influences (USA, Spain, Ireland,<br />

Brighton!) in his lively and accessible<br />

performance. People have compared<br />

Mr.Eugene with Shane McGowan,<br />

others have said David Byrne,<br />

Rory McLeod, The Levellers or even<br />

Leonard Cohen. Alternative International<br />

<strong>Folk</strong>; full-on songs about people, life and<br />

Compagnie Giulia have been playing an<br />

exciting mixture of medieval music from<br />

all over Europe and music from the<br />

Near East since they formed in 2005.<br />

The band members bring a wealth of<br />

knowledge and experience of different<br />

musical traditions to form their unique<br />

sound. Bass viol player Mike Edwards<br />

was a member of ELO and now plays<br />

with Devon Baroque. Simon Cassell is a<br />

musicologist, and specialist in Turkish<br />

song and Middle Eastern percussion.<br />

Nick Millington (bouzouki) has studied<br />

Greek music. Howard Frey (mandolin and<br />

percussion) has a background in early<br />

and traditional music, and Julia Thomas<br />

(bagpipe, concertina, whistles, and voice)<br />

researches medieval music and has<br />

written new music to Middle English texts<br />

for the band.<br />
